I've been meaning to open the door and have a look see as to the workings of the side door lock. I'm always afraid of locking myself out of the rig if I forget to lift the door lock button when exiting. Has anyone figured a way to modify the latch assembly as to release the lock when the inside handle is pulled? There must be a simple method to accomplish this but I'll be darned if I can see how. Any help would sure be appreciated.

Not a direct answer, but hide a door key somewhere on your coach that you can access from the outside. Having been locked out very late at night is a bad experience. My wife has one hanging on her GMCMI lanyard.

Mine will open from the inside but doesn't lift the lock. If you exit the coach without unlocking the latch and close the door behind you, you better have that extra key around.
I'm in the process of adding the actuator now and will have the fob to rely on IF I remember to carry it with me.
I was just hoping someone had figured a way to defeat the current way it works.

I use a campground kid through the galley window trick. These coaches are
not too secure on the slider windows.

I keep a coach door key on my regular key ring, and a coach door and
ignition key on another. The small ring is used for normal coach entry
and starting, and lives in my pocketwhen the coach is not running. Linda
has a door key with her purse key cluster, also. Works well, so far.

It can't be seen when the flap is opened, but it's there. In fact, if you
bought a coach in the last 10 years from an old geezer like myself, stick
your hand in to see if there is already there mixed in with leaves and dirt.
