WOW Kerry. That is my exact thoughts. And was thinking of writing the same thing. I've built a lot of 454's. Some for heavy towing. Some for high RPM track use. Built some 455's for GMC use. Both are of outstanding engine design. That 403,and 455 are very robust for moving heavy loads at low RPM's. GM made one miscall in our drivetrain. And that was in the 3:07 final drive. My 403 powered GMC GVW when towing is in the 17 to 21,000 lbs. The 3:70 FD makes that load very manageable. And gets the job done that I need done. Thus, what more can I ask for. Or need. With the engine building equipment that I have. Building a 455,or 500 isn't a problem. I'm sticking with the 403. And installing EFI with spark control. Besides. I'm 70. Our GMC burned one year ago today. I've lost one year of road racing. As to Dave L. and other engine installs. I absolutely love the engineering involved. I hope this new ideas continue.
