Just in the off chance that anybody cares, I am planning to muster the group (currently few) at 11:00 AM Tomorrow (Saturday 20 August) the White Castle that is at Woodward and Webster. If I don't know you are coming and you aren't there then, we will see you on the backhaul.

For the first time in several years I will be out in my '76 PB doing the cruise. We'll probably see you one way or another.
I don't know about a White Castle on Woodward and Webster (in Royal Oak?). I went to Junior High near Woodward and Webster and know the area well. Did you mean the White Castle on 13 Mile near Woodward (Coolidge & 13 Mile)?

Richard,
The location was chosen from google Earth because it has a large lot and is easily accessed from Woodward.
Hope we see you.
Matt
OK it turns out that there is a White Castle in Ferndale that is Webster @ Woodward. I did not know that. Looks like a good location to start a convoy.
The cruse has already started. I took a drive up and down Woodward in my GMC Friday night. Got a lot of waves for my vintage RV from the crowds. Saturday should be fun if the weather holds out. The view from a GMC sure beats what the Corvette etc. crowd is looking at during the drive.

What a spectacular day.
I finally met Michael Schupp and say his beautiful coach.
We had six onboard (and I do have ten seatbelts). The youngest was my 11yo GS2, the eldest was a 90yo lady that had never seen such a thing and was amazed the whole time. She moving back and forth between the rear and the passenger seat and steadily recording images with her table (of some nature).
Also with us were Greg and Ellie Lassa. They have a 78 Eleganza that is not currently road ready (but we are working on that).
A strange thing is I was driving this required me to pay some attention to the road, but as we were gridlocked about 80% of the time, that was not too bad.
Were there some beautiful things there? Oh Yes.
Were there some strange things there? Again Yes.
We did see Craig Lechowicz in his usual place, and Greg said he saw two others. So, that makes five. We did not see RJW, but you could loose your brother in that crowd.
Let's see how we feel next year.
The Orphan Car show is next month. I'm not sure I will try to get into that, but we might just go.

Yes! The GMC is a great platform to see the cruise. Maybe the best since it is not that big. I would hate to be in a big SOB trying to deal with the gridlock. Plus we are driving a legitimate classic vehicle in the cruise.
I wonder what the cars see during the cruise. Just what is next to them I suppose. I would not want to do the cruise in a car.
We had 3 different people come up to us and ask if ours was a EM-50 from the movie stripes. That has never happened to us before.
Interesting that the site of the GM plant that built our coaches has been turned into an auto related "87-acre playground for auto enthusiasts that includes a secure community of 250+ Private Garages and a state-of-the-art 1.5-mile Performance Track with its own private Motorsports Club." M1 would be a great place to house a GMC Motorhome. If I had an extra $280,000 laying around I would buy one of the garages. It's only a few miles from my house.

Matt, we saw you as you were stopped at 14 mile at the light (or was it 13 mile?). You were southbound and we were northbound. We also saw Craig, but he didn't see us because he was facing away from Woodward.

GMC Cruse wrote on Thu, 25 August 2016 18:14WXYZ got a quick glimpse of 3 GMC's in their coverage. Look at the 2:38 and 3:39 marks in this link. They are in the background on the opposite side from the reporters. It takes a few seconds for the video to begin once you are on the link.

Hey Mike,
Thanks! That was US alright. Many of you know the Glacier 23 in the first clip (will be a Mansfield) and the one behind is Mike Schupp with his kayaks on the roof.
There were at least four of us there. Craig Lechowicz is usually stationary for the benefit of his friends and Richard Waters was not with us because he starts at the other end. I have heard of a fifth but have not identified it.
We didn't go to be part of the show. We went to see the show, and there is no better way.
