Need help with part number for the wider brae shoes on the rear. Appears
that need one set and can't find a part number anywhere - sometimes I do
curse Bert :)
Check with Jim K and GMCMI parts index, looked for old parts box and check
with local parts house for previous transactions we had with them. No luck.
So, if you know the number would appreciate the info.
Thanks,

Jjm had mentioned him, but didn't think he would pass on the part number
and I need them by tomorrow. Know Bert found the number somewhere, but I
can't find it.

Take them to NAPA and find someone old or young with brains. They have books with shoes of all sizes and shapes. First they measure to narrow the search. Then page through the books till you find the match. I did this recently. Had a United enclosed trailer with Dexter axles. Neither could give me shoe part number by phone so did the above. Perfect match.

Fay,
I think that you're asking for the 2 3/4” shoes, is that correct? You also have the rear brake modified to use the larger shoes?
Looking in my parts book I see the following 2 3/4” shoes listed part#:
NAPA# UP473R
Autozone
OReilly
JR Wright
78 Buskirk Stretch
75 Avion
Michigan

John,
You are right, need the ones that 2 and 3/4 wide. Noticed that the specs on
the ones you listed, the drum size is 11.15 or 11.16. I am figuring that
being a bit bigger than 11 won't matter due to my drums having been turned
once or twice before. Would that be right? And yes, the other mod were done
16 plus years ago.
Thanks,

That info looked good, but discovered that the listing for the Pontiac had
been discontinued.

Fay,
I have the drawings to convert the drums to a 2 3/4” shoe and necessary mods and that is what is listed to use and these are all the 473 shoes.
