(Hi folks. The recent email I sent was sent accidentally before I finished and corrected some info. Here is the message I intended. Thanks)
***The issue turned out to be the S-wire (signal) going down to the solenoid... It was broken off of its terminal down on the solenoid ( such a relatively minor problem that ended up costing a good deal of money and time overall. Today I spent the day at Miguel's shop in San Bernardino, assessing and repairing this and some other minor, but integral issues, which included adding a larger filter down towards the front end of the frame. I opted to hold off on the additional fuel pump, as I have not experienced any vapor-lock issues as of yet. This will likely be something I do later on though. Also, when I do install one, i am going to have the fuel filter mounted in the front passenger access hatch compartment.. Along with a priming switch for it. I like the idea of quick and easy accessibility. Just makes sense to me. If any of you have done this mod, please give me your thoughts on this.
The checklist is the order That seems the most efficient :
*Check all the connections going to the Starter/solenoid are not disconnected somehow.
*Hammer the starter ( due to possible heat fatigue, it make seize.
*Bypass the Park/Neutral safety switch (bottom rear of steering column/inside cab)
*Check Ignition Switch module ( same location above the P/M safety switch)
*Jump the two connections on starter with a wire or screw driver..
(Note: to jump the solenoid, I found that a long driver or pry bar with a rubber handle, typically used on tires, was a great tool for that job due to the precarious position under the coach.. Getting under the nose/front passenger side, coming in at an angle closer to the front right tire, enabled me to see over the ball joint and arm of the right front wheel, where the oil filter and Starter connections can be seen much easier, without having to slide in closer toward the tranny)
> I want to thank this forum and all who took time on this Independence Day, for graciously responding to my call for help. I am truly thankful to you all. I purchase my 77 GMC, nearly 8 years ago... drove it up to Applied GMC six years ago.. Did a lot of fixing and upgrading at that time. $$$
> The project was to be a year long project to make the coach "better than new"...but life had different plans...
> So, about six years later, I flew into San Francisco this passed June 26th, to finally pick her up and bring her home to continue fixing her up. Jim K., Nick G., and the rest of the guys are great.. and really were patient and understanding, to say the least, after that amount of time. I dropped another grip of cash for some more goodies and fixes on the RV, and took off down the coast last Friday. Had a some rough moments with the fuel filter on the carb getting clogged two separate times, due to six years of sitting, despite the tanks having been cleaned up. (I thought it had also clogged the generator fuel filter.. (But, it needs a new carb)
Can't say enough about the response from this community!
> This was one of the main reasons I decided to invest in this coach.. Beyond the "cool" aspect.. Money pit and all.. Lol
> The community of GMC'ers is truly amazing, and I look forward to being part of it for a long time, God willing...(if she doesn't make me broke first). Thanks to those who were able to respond back....

> I also have to give special thanks to:
> Jim K. /AppliedGMC

> Nick Roenick / Pres. of GMC Western States
> Miguel Mendez /MGMGMC
You guys made a bad situation less ominous and stressful. Much thanks for the help..
Now back to Vegas to get back to my job.. This monster needs more done, and she's got an expensive appetite... Whoa boy....
Happy Trails....
