Banggood.com has a seven day sale which includes a 'Fox n Hound' style wire tracer which also tests some functions of network cables. $16.88 plus shipping, $18.18 total shipped. Less than half anyone else's fox n hound, so I have one coming. Before you ask, I don't have the url in front of me, but it's findable on banggood.com as a wire tracer.

You're too far away to make the annual StarCraft outing in The Mouse, might as well to spend it with the Heathen Chinee. I had to leave my Triplett set at work when I retired, this is the first one I've seen for cheeeep. <$20 is the Ebay but they want shipping, Amazon is $30, retail is about 40, we'll see how they work out. It looks to do simple wire mapping and cross connects and some indication of signal present as well. My cable scanner at work did maps, cross pairs, cross talk between pairs, attenuation, length, and half a dozen other tests... but they're 1500 bux a copy. This will do just fine for the GMC.

It got here, works correctly, as far as the fox n hound mode and the wire map mode. Haven't tried the telco and ethernet modes yet. Let me point out, RTFM. It is NOT intuitive in its operation, but once you figure it, it works well. The fox alligator clips are too small and the wire too short, easily remedied. Last Banggood has them down to $12.55.
