I see the manual indicates that proper torque for the stock wheels is 250 ft. lbs. Is it the same for the Alcoa 16" wheels. I had mine off yesterday and used the max on my torque wrench at 150. Thanks.

John,

My Alcoa lug nuts are stamped to be torqued to 140 ft lbs.

Excellent. Just checked and mine are too. I'm getting the tires rotated and balanced next week. I'll tell them 140. Thanks.

Keep an eye on them. They must jack the coach properly and only real tire shops use hand torque wrenches as time is money. I never use an impact wrench to install lug nuts. Also follow the pattern sequence and do it in stages. .

And remember to retorque them after a short trip, about 100 miles or so. Recheck before a long trip. In this case, your torque wrench that you hand apply is your friend. No power tools needed.

Using a torque stick with an impact works well. I've double checked mine with a hand torque wrench and have been pleasantly surprised how accurate they can be.

Discount used an impact to 65#, then hand torqued to 140. I'll check them after some miles. I ended up replacing two tires as one balanced but showed a wobble on the machine. I chose to put new tires on the front and replace my nine year old spare with one of the takeoffs. Handled great on the ride home.

In the process of loading up to do a reaction arm install, I see the Eagles on the new used coach are lug centered. They've got the same shoulder lugs as my hub centered Eagles on the 23', I figure they will hold the wheels about as well. They have so far. Concrete guys blocking the area tomorrw, I'll do the reaction arms in a couple days. Keep looking for pictures, the kit has been upgraded and simplified to a degree.

My Eagles are also lug centered. Jim K used to sell these before he got the special ones with the proper size center hole made. They are fine and you will have no problems with them. I torque the nuts to 140 ft lbs. They run as true as the hub centered wheels. When installing them, just start one lug nut at the bottom first, let the wheel tilt out onto that one, then start installing the other ones from the bottom up. It works well and is the easiest way to remount the wheels.
