Hi...
Does anyone have the hole sixe of the factory gauges? In case I want to replace my stock gauges with aftermarket?
Also I want to switch to LED dash lights if I keep my stock gauges. I already have the bulbs, do I need to do anything special with the wiring or just plug them in?
Anyone have a diagram or drawing of how many bulbs are needed and where they are located?
Thanks,
Steve

You cannot "just plug in" LEDs. Polarity and voltage sensitive. Most LEDs are about 1.2 volts DC at various current levels, depending upon light output. Heavy current draw LEDs require heat sinks to control their temperature. Too hot and they burn up very quickly. Are you meaning to replace the lights that are in the telltale panel and the instruments? Or, are you trying to replace behind the labels over the various controls?
two different approaches are needed.
Typical 12v LEDs (lower output) consists of a string of 3 LEDs and a dropping resistor to control current. Take a close look at some of the strip LED lighting arrays and you will see what I mean. Higher output LEDs require a current limiter and heat sinks. For an instrument light, you do not have to worry about the high output LEDs. I have not seen LED lights for sale that are configured like the instrument panel lights. They may exist, but I am unaware of them.
The labels initially had a fiber optic ribbon to carry light to them for illumination. Most of these ribbons had fallen apart. Have never seen an intact ribbon. There is an electroluminescent kit available to light the labels. http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/500 Or, you can roll your own.

The physical configuration of those LEDs does not match the configuration that is used on my dash. It is a 1975 GMC. They may work in place of the listed types. They would work as a replacement type because that bulb base actually has a positive and negative point.
