I am reinstalling the newly rebuilt Manny trani after last years aborted
trip. Removing the burnt trani went well and the initial installation is
going well. However, now that we have it up and one bolt started between
the eng and trani on the passenger's side, we are having trouble getting
the rest lined up and making sure the final drive splines engage properly.
Any helpful hints?

when I've seen Manny do it, he has the front end off the ground so you
can turn the wheels to get the splines of the final drive to line up.
He leaves the final drive in place when he takes the tranny out.

On our last big engine&tranny rebuild and final drive replacement,
I found it a lot easier to bolt the final drive to the tranny on the ground
and lift both of them together. But then, we already had the final drive out,
and it's a heavy little thing.

Ok Manny said to jack on final drive and get it bolted to trani first, but
having problems getting trani to rotate a bit so bolt holes will line up.
Any one know where on the final he jacks?

PS Gene, Manny isn't answering for me,

Fay

Faye,
The engine has two studs that need to mate to the trans.
MAKE SURE the torque converter is spun and pushed back all the way first.
Never start tightening one bolt, you'll brake the ear on trans.
