The dash wiring on my 77 Kingsley 26 is a terrible mess. Is there a new wire loom available?

There are only used ones that are carefully removed.
A new one can be made, but it will be very expensive , mor like $1600.
We supply carefully removed unit for $900.
Your better of patching up your existing or find somone that has a
carefulluy removed one from someone.

It looks as if you could remove the dash cover and the glove box, and then carefully take the harness from the firewall plug across, as you remove it number or label each wire keep a list of numbers and where they go, you could renew any wires or connectors that are flaky. Make a lacing board out of a piece of plywood, and drive a brad in where each wire turns out of the harness. Draw the recepticle on the board with the corresponding number or label. Once the harness is laid out with the wires broken out at each brad, you can lace it with Ty-raps <tm> or tape it.
If you can source the connectors, you could set up a neat cottage industry making and selling these. The first one would be a hell of a job, but subsequent ones would be simple.

You might look at American Autowire or similar harness manufacturers -- they have GM replacement harness and can add circuits as required.
Price looks like $200 and up for universal fit with new connectors.

I have made a harness for GMC motorhome. 1973 model. Burn job. Took me
quite a while. All the connectors were able to be used again as well as the
firewall connector and fuse block. Good luck on finding exact color coded
wire to duplicate the original stuff. If your connectors are no good, 'rots
a 'ruck finding that stuff too. Just a tedious job soldering and heat
shrinking those things. But if you are fastidious and like Rob Mueller, it
can be done.

Rob, I was commenting on your trait of attention to even the smallest
details, no matter what the task. That is what it takes to do wire
harness. Not a job for the faint of heart. How are you holding up? Tough
times, I know, but it gets better.

You might want to revisit the idea of building an entire new harness. When my coach burned I had to rewire it but not everything was bad. So I simply started out on one bad wire and replaced it. Then I went to the next one. I was able to find connectors locally. I replaced almost all of the connectors because the dry power fire extinguisher destroyed everything electrical that it touched. I paid attention to the wire gauge and colors using the GMC wiring diagram and the remants of the old wire. I made almost all of them the same as before. It was not a major job.

Has anyone had SUCCESS in grafting a Painless Harness (ie 1970-1983 GM Pickup)? or one of the Hot Rod kits?
Presumably, you have to redo the house part on you own, no?

If the next guy who makes one lays out the old harness on a lacing board and puts Visquine<rm> or somesuch under it and marks the wire lengths and connectors, it could be rolled up and lent to the next one.
