Hi Sandra,
Your post was both prescient and persuasive. We were talking over coffee this morning about whether to go to Valdez over the pass on a rainy day or turn toward Anchorage where the weather appeared to be better. When I read your post to Sharon, we both said, let's go if it is that good. We did and it is! I stood in one spot in our RV park here and did a 360 degree panorama of glaciers in all directions. Breathtaking place and drive. Thanks for the push.

It IS a long drive, but we both wish we were doing it again.
You should be nearing Tok. Three places we would want to go back to are
Valdez, Whittier, and Homer. Enjoy!

Glad you feel that way. Be sure to walk down on the marina and see the
fish being cleaned. We also went down the road toward the "tank farm" and
saw salmon swimming up the fish ladder and gulls, eagles and bears having a
feast.
We took the Prince William Sound cruise, which was spectacular as well.
When we were there, we bought a book of coupons at the grocery store that
saved us the cost of one cruise fare, half the cost of the book. There are
other coupons as well, especially since you are at your first stop, so you
may want to get a coupon book for use on the rest of your trip--forgot what
is called. When we went back through Tok, we gave what was left of the
book to someone just coming into AK.
Wish we were there. You can stop at Whittier on your way out from Valdez.
