In the process of doing other things to the beast I had the front
motor mount out ,after cleaning I noticed the rubber part has an angle molded in it. Looked in factory manual, nothing mentioned about which way angle should be. Anyone seen this before or know the correct direction. Thanks

Skip,

I just replaced the front engine mount on my GMC. I don't recall seeing what you are describing. Do you have a picture you can share. Below is a picture of the new mount I installed.

Called applied who sold it to me a couple of years ago and Jim said I was hallucinating, no really he's never seen it and we both concluded it probably just took a set , just be sure and put back in the same way.

My front mount was goopy, but it was still parallel when I replaced it. I would check your other mounts to see if they have sagged, allowing the engine to sit at an angle and making the front mount "take a set" on an angle.
