That is absolutly the worst ac dometic has ever built! Don't even consider
it.

Thanks Billy,
After spending most of last night researching the web, that sounds like the majority opinion.
I think the Coleman Mach 8 gets the best overall reviews.
My rear AC cut out is far enough forward that it might go in without any modifications to the railing. We'll see. Scott.

Scott,
I suggest you wait until John and I find out what's causing the noise before you order a new A/C.
BTW from what I have noticed in all the GMC's I have been in the location of the rear cut out is in the same location and I believe
only the Dometic units will fit facing forward.

I believe that the "Penguin" model does not care from an operational point of view, which end is forward. I think this was the model of choice several years ago for installation in the rear A/C position.
My current rear A/C is installed backward and cannot be operated while underway. Not going to change it unless it dies.
