If one were to use Gates Barrier hose up there, wouldn't it outlive all of us here?

Gene,
It depends on which type and brand of hose that you use. Granted the hose rating SAE J30R7 and earlier hose and the type that was used on our coaches from the beginning and the somewhat to the run up of ethanol era are not acceptable for todays fuels and should not be used under any circumstances. The newer SAE J30R9 and J30R14 and the SAE 30R10 specification for submersible fuel line hose applications. The new spec hoses will last a long longl time and are perfectly acceptable for this application.

The use of Parker or Sweglok union fittings as an mechanical connection is probably the best choice, but may beyond some owners.

These are also available in Brass and Steel construction.

John,

That is assuming that the formulation of "motorfuel" does not change.
And,
Even Gates Engineers will admit that they believe it will be long lived, but they have very little history.

However, if they start to use something in motorfuel that tears up metal, then we have a real big problem.

Matt
