With all this talk about the Blacklist, have the POI files been updated since the list itself was audited? I'm not trying to create work for anyone, I just didn't want to bring it up on FB if the files are too old.

Elizabeth City, NC I am not aware of any POI files on the net. The Excel file can be edited/modified to be imported into some GPSs, but not all (delete some of the rows and columns and re-arrange what's left). Some GPSs need lat/long in their POI files, and there are sites on the internet that can convert the address or zip code to lat/long. My TomTom needs OV2 format, and the Excel file would have to be edited/modified and then processed through the OV2 converter before the result can be imported.
Where are the POI files that are GPS ready?

Jesse,
A while back, Billy asked several of us to verify Black List members in our
areas of the country. If I wasn't able to contact you after 3 tries, I
would have purged you from the SE region.
So, I'm probably the guilty party in "marching over you, old timer". Being
as how I'm probably even older, please forgive me and re-register yourself
at
And answer your phone! :-)

With the ever-increasing use of smartphones and dataplans, the Google map on the Blacklist serves as a pretty good lazyman's POI file substitute. Bookmarked that page separately. Thanks, Bdub and Blacklist helpers!

All,
If you are like me and don't have internet access when mobile, and you want help getting a POI file for/into your GPS, just post here and I will try to help. I have made files for many popular brands. Like I said, TomTom needs a special format, and I have a program that does that. If your GPS needs lat/long, I will have to find a way to do that. I think the page I used before has changed their policy and limits the number that you can convert to a number per day smaller than the blacklist. It might take more than a day to convert.

I noticed Sygic requires lat/lon. It's been 5 years or more since I've done any geocoding but this site used to work pretty well for zipcodes to lat/lon
http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/batch-geocode/
I followed Matt's advice and have Delorme on board as well.

I have made a file for DeLorme and IIRC you just need to delete some columns and re-arrange what's left to import it. Same with Microsoft Streets and Trips.
