I want to get to the drains for the holding tanks soon. As the tanks are installed in place. So about two weeks ago I placed some calls to find the pipe, and fittings. Even searched the web within 100 miles of Cedar Rapids. NONE. I had seen it in the Menards in Apple Valley Minnesota while visiting our daughter. Looked at their web site. They had everything I needed. So I sent a bill of material. Then when she came back for a visit. Well. I got my parts. But a mistake was made somewhere. No 3 inch pipe arrived. Just the 1 1/2 inch pipe. Menards said that they would send the 3 inch pipe at no charge to my local store. BUT. I had to order 3 pieces. So I should be getting that soon. 30 ft of it. ( Anyone need some? ) The local RV places wanted more for one 10 ft piece of 3 inch. Then I could get the 30 ft from Menards. So search before you start a drain project. Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale

Just curious, why couldn't you have used PVC instead of ABS?

The Home Depot, and Lowes here also didn't have it.. You can use PVC if you wish. My only point is that if you want ABS. It's not everywhere. Bob D

Jon. Yes, PVC could be used. The PO had replaced the drains out of the holding tanks with the white PVC. It was very discolored, looked offal, and had plenty of cracks. The RV industry used ABS for its crack resistance I think. The black just blends in under there. The price was about the price of PVC. So that's why I'm using it. This GMC is going to look just as good on the bottom, as the top. I'm just not going to wax the bottom. Well. Maybe a little. I did polish the LP copper tubing. ( GRINN ) Matt Sladek from Coralville has seen it lately. He can cover that.
