Looking for info on hose type, size and length of the flex fuel
line inside the Onan compartment between the case and fuel pump.
Parts book only gives number, or going blind.

I'm guessing at 1/4 in. x 36 in.. Best hose to use?

I took a section of the old line to the Oreilly's and let the counter guy match it. I asked for ethanol proof and it was $3.89 a foot. I bought 4 feet. Had less than 4 inches leftover (but I also had to replace the 6 inches or so between the fuel pump and the carburetor). Mine is a 4k.

For my 4K w I used 3/8 x 1/4 id clear vinyl tubing. I bought about six feet because it was only $0.37 per foot. Vinyl hardens in a few years so you have to replace. I may go to Tygon -- McMaster sells it in a five ft length but about $10.

At the Onan seminar in Chippewa, Tygon was suggesed from a snowmobile shop. Cut to length to work with or withou the once present return spring.

Dennis,
DO NOT USE any fuel line that is not fuel rated for Ethanol use. The clear vinyl tubing is a fire waiting to happen. DO NOT USE tygon either, it is great for chain saws and lawn mowers but NOT for automotive use. I would suggest the R14 rated hose that all the big box auto stores sell by the foot, and yes your going to spend more than a couple of bucks a foot. I have used it in all my fuel lines that are rubber.

Why is Tygon not rated? I would guess single wall with no weaving reinforcemeny has poor chafe/ cut resistance. I'm talking from the Onan outer drawer assembly to the Genset only. Like 2'. Barrier rated line should go from the drawer barb to the tank. The Onan did start life as a riding lawn mower engine though! Several people suggested this snowmobile line at Chippewa. I audio recorded on my phone but quality is bad as that room was cinderblock.

Marine fuel hose may be another option... Nice thing about it, is it's flame resistant to meet Coast Guard regulations. Supposed to be good for 2 1/2 minutes in fire before it ruptures. Most of the ones I've seen are ok with ethanol as well.
