I am hoping for some local GMC knowledge here.
Does anybody know if they tag us as a 3-Axle?
We are hoping to be coming up to Pittsburgh from the south after Dothan.
According to the chart on the web, the toll for a 3-Axle (yes, we aren't) would be about 15$.
The same run with only 2 axles is near half that.
It is an extra 22 miles to by-pass the toll road. (At 9.2MPG, I can buy that.)
This is why we drive around most toll roads.

Being a long time PA EasyPass subscriber, my experience is they count the wheels over the sensors and abuse your checkbook accordingly.
Stop by if you're coming through Wheeling!

Yes, we're a 3 axle vehicle, except for Arch at one toll station. He won
that argument.

Should be three axle, single rear wheels, class 7..this is NY/NJ port authority definition, but applies to ezpass, as mine is registered.

Thanks all,
I guess we get to see more of the PA countryside. I don't mind.
Dolph,
We are routing through Pittsburgh to get to the Alexandria Museum and maybe visit with a long time friend. Then northwest into Ohio for some others.
Sean,
Thanks much for the PATH page.
It does annoy me that when we do get stuck for a toll, we are often in the same category as a highway buss.
I guess we by-passing tolls when feasible. With fuel prices down, the price point has shifted away from toll roads.
You know, if you have a (______) can easily afford to support the state more than you are currently.
But, lets not go there as this could get real politically nasty real fast.
