Well, we are digging out today. We had 18 inches yesterday. Boulder had 25 inches and much of Denver had 15 or more.
The Denver airport is open again.

This was a blizzard with 40-45 mph winds. The snow was blowing sideways. Interstate 70 was closed from Denver to the Kansas border and many vehicles were stranded on it for up to 12 hours. All interstates in the metro area required chains, even for automobiles. Many wrecks on the roads.

Apparently this storm is heading northeast all the way to the Michigan UP.

That was a bad one Emery. Hope there aren't any more like it.

I spent the night in Burlington, CO and just barely got out ahead of the show. Drizzle in 20mph north wind with gusts to 40 kept
things interesting (and COLD!). About 50 miles into Kansas the precip stopped, at 75 miles in the sun was shining bright and winds
were calm. Smooth sailing! By 100 miles in, the wind picked up out of the south. By noon it was 30 mph gusting to 45 or 50.
White knuckled it all the way across Kansas. I was one tired boy last night.

I'm glad I live up here on the tundra.
No snow this year.

Harry,

How do you tell the new snow from last years? Wink

A friend lived most of his life on Michigan's upper peninsula and he often said that they didn't even use snow that was less than a year old.

When I lived back in Hamilton, Ontario, we had different color snow every day.
It all depended how much crap the steel mills were pumping out.
One day it was black, next day it was red.
Striped snow.
