I should have mentioned this earlier. I got the shock/tingle without
touching any wiring (the shock is how I discovered the problem). Once Eric
disconnected the converter the shock (and measured voltage) was gone...ergo
my assumption that the converter was the issue. It may not be. Could it
simply be the messenger? I was not aware of the water heater
issue/potential until this thread.
When I mentioned 110v lights earlier, I was referring to a lamp plugged
into an outlet that would only work with the converter in place. My point
was that it still working.
All great comments as I know I have a lot to learn about these GMCs. Thanks
to the Ken Henderson, Ken Burton, 4, Matt, Johnny and anyone else who
responded. Johnny, I will see you tomorrow at the lunch, but will be either
in a 4-wheeled cage or a 2-wheeled friend as I put my coach in the shop to
go through it.

Sounds like your problem was that the PO spliced the IOTA AC cord to the unit incorrectly. On the bench this can easily be corrected then the unit connected to an automotive battery and voltages monitored. As mentioned you should have or get the smart module plug in option once the unit is confirmed to be working. This will greatly lenghten your battery service life. IOTA units are perfectly good and a matter of brand preference compared with Progressive Dynamics.
