Old awning came off today. New holding tanks getting secured now. Inside plastic restoration completed. Then I notice a really bad trailer wiring job to the tail lights. Looked in the glove box to see if a trailer wiring harness came from the factory. And there it was. RPO# UPA-801 Trailer Wiring Harness. So I went out to see where it came out of the body on the GMC convertible. There it was. At the lower left corner of the body. So then I went in, to pull out the mouse house harness. Never used. The wires are wrapped. About 5 ft long. Attached to the rear frame rail across the back with metal clips holding it in place. There are 5 wires. Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, and a larger white wire. One each for Left, Right, Run lights, and the larger white for ground. So what's the extra wire? Have to be brakes, or 12 Volt. If the 5th wire is for brakes. Where is it up front to hook up to the controller?Bob Dunahugh78 Royale. Mouse House

Or maybe not-

Check back by the back corner where it enters the coach. Mine stopped there on the 1977.

.A PO probable cut it off. As they didn't know what it was. Both GMC's had the same amount of wire. Bob Dunahugh

Found the other end of that extra blue wire in the factory trailer harness. It goes from the outside end of the harness. To just inside of the body below the left tail light. Thought of using it for the electric brakes. But if I'm going to run a wire from the front to the back of the body. What's another 4 ft. But if you wanted 12V in your trailer. Great wirer to use.Bob Dunahugh
