Hello all,
I work full time and have never been to a GMC Rally. I'm interested in going but can't spend the time off to go to a GMCMI event
like Dothan. I'm thinking about a regional one near home however without being a member of a club I can't find much information
about the Rallies on there web site.
So, where they are:
How much do they cost?
Additional fees for additional people?
What does the fee cover?
Will my non GMC friends fee welcome to bring their coaches?
Can you just show up at the RV park or do you need to register with the organization?
What do you do at them when you aren't eating/drinking/talking (or is that the point of them? )
I think I heard you can come to one a year without being a member, is that true?
If I'm going to go, how do I get a registration form without being a member?
thank you all for your input.
Todd
PS I have a free Good Sam's membership, a paid AAA RV Plus because they cover motorcycles so I can't justify another membership
because I don't camp enought.
Todd

Todd,
With any luck Bill Helmore will be at the SEMNO lunch Saturday. There are some membership issues we need to discuss, but those memberships are not all that expensive and the ROI is definitely there.
See you Saturday.

The Fall GMCMI rally will be in Springfield OH, Sept 30 thru Oct 6 and you can get info on the GMCMI at http://www.gmcmi.com
>> site. So, where they are:
Todd you can go to the GMCGL website at gmcgreatlakers.org go to the Rallies section and you will see the proposed 2016 Rally Schedule. The site will be update before April 1 with information on the first 3 rallies.
>>
>> How much do they cost?
Rally pricing is different for each rally, some more and some less depending on site, events and activities. The 40th Birthday Party rally cost will be $160 for 2 adults and $110 for single person with extra persons costing $50 for the weekend. The fees cover 3 days camping, 2 catered meals and breakfast is under discussion. Future rally information and entry forms will be listed in the newsletter and on the website as information becomes available.
>> Additional fees for additional people?
see above
>> What does the fee cover?

>> Will my non GMC friends fee welcome to bring their coaches?
That is a loaded question. GMCGLMHC is a pure GMC club and requires that you have ownership of a GMC (TZE) coach to become a member. If your friends also own a GMC TZE) coach then they are also welcome to attend one rally also before having to join. Any SOB owners ( Class C, Class B or a trailer) would have to contact the club President directly to discuss possible attendance and if they are thinking of purchasing a GMC(TZE) for future use, but we are NOT set up to accommodate a Class A 35 foot + Motorhome at our rallies. The Venues that we use are typically smaller in campsite size. Persons that do have a larger Class A motor home could attend the social activities for a fee, but would have to make their own arrangements for their own camping sites and would need to contact the club president to discuss social events and possible fees for those events. They would not necessary be parked near the rally campsites.
>> Can you just show up at the RV park or do you need to register with the organization?
It is common courtesy that you preregister for the rallies as much preplanning goes into each rally on necessary site numbers, supplies and catering and misc stuff. Cut off dates are listed on the rally entry forms. Almost all of our rallies are planned a year in advance. Please go to the website and read about the happenings that occurred at the club rallies. http://www.gmcgreatlakers.org/gl_newsletters/ The newsletters go back to 2009.
>> What do you do at them when you aren't eating/drinking/talking (or is that the point of them? )
Todd,
We invite all GMC non members to attend one of our rallies to determine if they would want to join our club.
>> I think I heard you can come to one a year without being a member, is that true?
That is semi correct, as a GMC(TZE) owner you may attend one rally without joining the club.

Todd,
To join a regional GMC club including GMCGLMHC and GMCMI or others you also need to be a member of FMCA. We do coordinate with FMCA on membership and FMCA provides all the necessary liability insurance that is required to operate a club and rallies. This is not an option! Your GoodSam and AAA provide personal insurance and road service. That is a cost of going down the road. Membership info at: http://www.gmcgreatlakers.org/organization/application/ Please note that all sections of the GMCGL website are open to the public except the members only area.

Note, lunch generally on your own, so bring something to munch and drink.
We do love to socialize, but we do not get drunk and cuss at people.
Even I try not to offend people.
