Ouch. That's going to slow down your work - and nose picking - for a while. Pay attention to the ER folks, and take care of it. Bone infections are Not Your Friend.

I cringed when I saw that picture. As careless as I am, that could have easily been me. I have a friend that can only count to eight these or eighteen these days. He lost the other two in a similar accident.
Get well soon.

Rob,
Get well soon! I used to work in a woodshop with kids as clients. I was careful with my hands, only damaged a nail bed on a drill press. Table saw got a finger of one of my colleagues. I hate cleaning blood streaks on ceiling tile! Got my hearing damaged instead. Bought my own hearing protectors, pre-OSHA days.
I hope you return to full function soon. My neighbors are not allowed on ladders unless the wife has a project she wants to be done, all restrictions are then removed. (Half joking, here.)
Best,

Rob, hmmm? Look away for a millisecond, Shit happens! Glad it was not any
worse. Self induced stuff are the greatest learning opportunities there
are. I had a student refuse to keep his 38" long hair in a pony tail and/or
a hair net. Said that San Francisco cops couldn't make him do it, and
neither could I. Well, he was leaning over a big single cylinder Wisconsin
engine on a running test stand when it sucked his hair into the flywheel
air intake. A trip to the emergency room and 37 stitches later convinced
him to get a hair cut. What a mess that was. Never had to caution any other
students about hair restraints after that one. Again, in your case, glad it
wasn't any worse.

Yikes!
I have 4 saws in my shop running at any one time, I used to be cavalier about it and just shove stuff through. These days I pay a lot more attention. as my saws got bigger they felt more dangerous I think and that's what made me change my tune. (not that size particularly matters when it comes to cutting off fingers!)

Ouch!!!
I'm happy to say that even after 45 years of using power tools (30+ for a living) I still have all my digits in tact. I did have a stupid attack about 10 years ago and brushed the meaty part of my left thumb over a spinning table saw blade. Just a flesh wound, but I still have some minor scarring and sensitivity there.
Be careful!!!
