I realize that it is way easier if you have the correct part to replace that motor. However if you're not able to find something simple to repair your vacuum cleaner here is an idea. That vacuum cleaner is really a very simple device with the vacuum motor separating the dust chamber by one piece of sheet metal. If you went to the vacuum repair outfit they may have a motor that could fit in its place it's simply a matter of putting the suction side on a hole in the dividing sheet metal and working from there. It sure looks to me like an old Electrolux motor might fit in that . The problem would be finding a way of ensuring the the outlet of the motor goes to the outside of the box but I would see a rigid foam donut (handmade of course) that would take air from the output side of the fan motor to the outside of the box.(through the grill on top) You may find that the repair guy may even be able to repair it way cheaper than you think.
While not there now, our local surplus place used to have vacuum cleaner motors that probably would work fine. Another option for the exhaust side would be to put in a divider plate between the electrics and the motor itself using a small piece of sheet metal and foam sealing tape. The air coming from the motor should be relatively clean anyway because its past the filter. These are just another set of option that I would look at if it were my problem.
The repair guy might be willing to look at these options too.

One other thing. (I should have said this)
Are the brushes worn out? They are easily replacable if you can get them.
BUT:
Vacuum motors are readily available on line and through distributors such as Mcmadter Carr. Take the number off the motor and basic sizes, and do some quality time with the phone and google. You may find a new unit that will replace your set up. Good luck.

I was trackin for other parts numbers today and find an GMCMH parts listing from 2002.
Part #116-311-00 was listed as vacuum cleaner motor. Put # in search and vacuumsonline shows match, 109 Canadian$. Check it out if it looks similar.
