I really like the look of your new seats. We are in the process of
contacting conversion van companies, as suggested here... and we are going
to go to our local Toyota dealership (we went on Sunday, but they were
closed), to test sit in the new ones. On a Sienna on the new vehicle lot,
we could see through the window that there was a nice looking set of black
leather seats. I would prefer brown, but they only browns were very light
really want to try those, but I wonder if they will show dirt the way a
black vehicle paint job will? And is leather the best choice in a vehicle
that will get hot in the summer? Any one had experience there?

Also, for the longest time I had chronic and very painful neck aches which
were attributed to a myriad of things, including Lyme, stress, sprain,
wrong pillow, etc. I finally figured out myself that it was the headrests
in our 2013 Escape that kept my head an unnatural angle. I took the
@*%$)%&* things out and have been pain free ever since! My daughter and
husband were very concerned about "whiplash" in case of impact, but the
relief from the pain made me not care much about that... But I heard
them, and didn't want them to worry, so I spent a lot of time trying to
find replacement headrests... they all had that angle to them. So when
they were here for Christmas, my daughter's boyfriend took the originals,
and simply turned them around, and inserted them in the seat holder. Now
they are almost perfectly flat, no neck ache, and I still have the good
headrest protection.

I found quite a few that had all your requirements *except* "integrated 3
point belts". Toyota, Mazda and Ford had vans with dual armrest middle
seats in certain years and trim packages.

The main issue I had finding seats - 85% of the ones I found were grey, I
required tan/beige. The seats I ended up using were from a 2003 Toyota
Sienna (found locally for $75):

We're 100% happy with them.

My personal experience with leather is that since it is
a "natural" product, the temperature very quickly will
adjust to your body temperature. They are definitely
NOT like vinyl upholstery!

Nancy, I have a 2013 Ford CMax and I hate the headrests, too. Definitely an unnatural angle. Will try reversing!

Those are the new 'Active Headrests' --and they have caused great wailing and gnashing of teeth on vehicle forums & a lot of neck pain for my wife.

RC,

I read the article and don't understand what the problem is with adjustable headrests,

My Mazda Tribute had adjustable headrests and didn't cause me or Helen any problems.

I used the word "had" above because recently rear ended a Toyota Kluger (SUV) at 60 km / hr and the headrest probably prevented
whiplash. The seat belt bruised my shoulder and chest and the air bag burned the top of my left thumb. The Tribute was a write off.

They are adjustable up and down, but the new ones tilt the top of the headrest significantly forward, I'm guessing 30 degrees off plumb. Depending on your height, your seat posture, and -yes- your hairdo, they cause people to lean forward in the seat. Or, if they rest their heads, their neck is curved along the forward angle relative to the plane of the seat back.
