Hey guys...

Need the part number for the Onan Air Filter for the 6KW Onan?

I looked everywhere I could think of...

Still looking for a working choke too?

Thanks,

Steve

There is probably not a replacement for a working Onan OEM choke. However, some one made a solenoid pull the choke lever as a substitute. The solenoid that he used is no longer available., but there are lots of solenoids to look at. I do not have the Onan, but I think a straight pull solenoid, such as used in door locking systems would make it an easier transition. A simple button could be used to engage the choke in a full on condition.

I'm in the process of electrifying the choke on the heathen chinee genset - about all it needs to be complete. Right now I hafta reach in and manually choke and then unchoke it. I bought a small 12V solenoid off ebay to use. If removing the detents on the manual choke free it up, this thing will work just fine.

Gene, That featured solenoid is no longer available. However, the concept is still valid. Someone with a lot of interest could probably make an ardunio with a temp sensor actually pull the choke in a relationship with actual exhaust temps. Much simpler to just use a dash mounted switch to pull the solenoid in.

We stock some good used Onan chokes, not cheap as they are hard to find
that works.

A possible replacement 12v straight pull solenoid is available from Eletronic Goldmine for $7 plus shipping in current ad. It has a 0.75 inch pull range. Should do the trick.
