We're very fortunate to have the dedicated vendor's that we have. As it's these people that put up their own money to reproduce the parts that keep these very old GMC's on the road. As without them. We have no one else. Plus we are NOT a very large financial market for them. And I'm sure they could do better financially in some other business. Their taking a chance that they'll ever get a return on their investment in tooling, and inventory. Would you invest in that type of risky endeavor? And we end up with the satisfaction of knowing that the parts we buy will fit properly, and work safely. Plus do the job we need done for a long period of time. At this time I'm rebuilding everything on this GMC. And I have no idea what I'd do without mostly Jim K at Applied GMC for parts. Plus at fair price. And the helpful support of Ken Henderson, and others. Then there's GMCMI that holds us all together with great information at rallies, and in print. Without this support. Our GMC's would just end up as a lawn ornament of a time gone by.

Absolutely! The vendors and the blacklist were THE deciding factors in my decision to go with GMCs.

I've bought parts and upgrades from J, J, & J (2 Jims and a Jeff) and plan to keep on doing so. I also *strongly* promote our vendors whenever we give tours or I talk to prospective restoration clients who are already GMC owners. I know for certain that I've brought in new, high-$$ business. I need brochures for the coaches.

Yeah, I've paid a lot of freight. But it stands to reason that they are in or around areas with high concentrations of RV communities: CA, WA, AZ, CO, etc. On the East Coast; FL (with a smattering in our old industrial centers like OH).

I don't know about the mostly on the west coast part, but I'm right with you about the other stuff.

Traveling and visiting GMC locations/vendors/blacklisters is a lot of fun. I call that the GMC Pilgrimage. Stop in when you're in the area. Buy something. Give them a hand if you can.

They remind me of Continental Electronics. 2ayem call to the field service folks "I got a hole burnt in the plate blocker." Moments silence. "New one will be on Delta Dash Flight xxx from DFW, should be there 6A." Cheap at the price.
