I've begun the miserable task of preparing for the inevitable move,
hopefully 5+ years from now, from here to the retirement village. With
GMCMI Dothan occurring in about 45 days, I'm trying to select a trailer
load of GMC stuff to try to dispose of there.

Among the items I was surprised to stumble across that may interest someone
here are a set of '78 or earlier Cadillac parking brake calipers, complete
with operating arms and springs. They're only cores, looking as if they
sat in the weeds for years, but the irreplaceable levers and springs appear
good. Even more surprising, I have another set of levers and springs, as
well as still another spring for the right side. Since these are all NLA,
someone may need them, If so, make me an offer off-line.

If there are other hard parts you need, drop me a note. Over 18 years,
I've collected a lot of stuff that I'll never need, and probably Alan won't
want to move & store for his GMC. Like 3 right side knuckles and one
left...

Ken,

I'd be interested in the calipers, levers, and springs.

Rob,

I'll hang on to all except the extra levers and accompanying springs.
Seems I short--changed Randy, who bought the accompanying calipers several
years ago. He hasn't been able to use them without the now-found levers.

Don't have a photo and they're in the mail, but they're about
1/8"x1-1/4"x4" with 2 formed indentations to increase stiffness. Have a
hex hole in one end to engage the caliper piston actuator and a formed loop
on the other to engage the brake cable.

Pete,

There are a several different versions:

1) http://www.tsmmfg.com/More.../3110.html With 2 13/32" piston = 61.11875mm piston

2) http://www.tsmmfg.com/More.../3120.html With 2 1/32" piston = 51.59375mm piston

3) http://www.tsmmfg.com/More.../3121.html With 2 13/32" piston = 61.11875mm piston

Note that NONE of these are as large as these:

http://www.tsmmfg.com/More.../3020.html With 3 1/32in piston = 76.99375mm

Which are the ones that lots of GMCer's have used to upgrade the front brakes. These calipers on the front and middle wheels and
will stop on a dime and give you 8 cents change.

That's almost as good as the reaction arm brake setup which will give you nine cents change! ;-)

Rob M.

I was just thinking that it might be worth getting a batch made if they are otherwise hard to find.

Are they "handed"?

Pete
