Just got word via Facebook that Dwayne passed away at 4:20 this morning. My condolences to all his family members and close friends.

Kathy and I had the opportunity to spend an evening and the next morning with Dwayne and Sharon a few years ago. They were on their way home from their epic "Cross Canada Rolling Rally" and were coming through our area. It just so happened that we were heading out to Chiricahua National Monument for the weekend with our GMC. We met Dwayne and Sharon in Willcox and they followed us down to the campground.

We ate dinner together and in the morning took them for a drive to the top of the mountain in our towd. Just that short visit with them had a positive impact on our lives that we still feel today. As a man of strong Christian faith, I'm sure Dwayne was not afraid of dying, and is, in fact, in a much better place. But knowing Dwayne as we did, I'm sure that, like Dan Gregg, he wasn't "ready to leave the party quite yet"

RIP Good friend.

Condolences and thoughts to his family and friends. I never met Dwayne but I sure did appreciate his input in our little community and loved following his planning for the big rolling rallies. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

This is surprising and tragic news....
Dwayne and Sharon stayed at our place here in Nova Scotia a couple of years
ago when they were on the east coast of their 'Rolling Rally'. and since
then we have been in touch on numerous occasions. I knew he was sick but I
assumed he was 'holding his own' ...it appears not!
Another terrific guy whose passing leaves us at a loss.
Carl said it best when he wrote: ".... I'm sure Dwayne was not afraid of
dying,...but...wasn't ready to leave the party quite yet"

It was a privilege knowing you !

We had been following his daughters postings on FB throughout the night. He fought a courageous battle living far beyond Dr's. predictions. He led a many rallies and loved the GMC community. He was a great leader with the GMC Cascaders and we and the community have such fond memories in our travels with him. He had such a wonderful spirit that we all will miss. He touched a great many people in his community and the GMC community. RIP DWAYNE, you will be missed.

Dwayne Jacobson passed away early this morning at Peace Arch Hospital near
White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. I have lost my best friend. But, this
is not about me. I urge all of Dwayne's friends to rally around his family
and show a huge outpouring of love, concern, and support for them. His
suffering is over, but theirs is raw and fresh and they can all use our
support. Anything we can do for Sharon and Lise and Paul and Shannon and
the rest of the large family circle that surrounds the Jacobson household
is a given. Know that we are there in these sorrowful times as we were in
the good times. Peace is yours at last, my brother.

Dwayne and Sharon came by our place on the southern leg of their epic cross Canada rolling rally. He had a bogie out of alignment and I helped (watched him use my jack)rotate his tires. After a shop tour we spent a couple hours waiting for a thunderstorm to pass by before they moved on. Great guy and although I never knew him all that well, we spoke frequently on and off line and I knew he was one of the 'good guys' in lots of ways.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sharon and his family as well as his many friends in the community.

Unfortunately, I never met my friend Dwayne. We've been communicating here
for so long that I felt closer to him than to many folks I've seen
face-to-face. I'm really sad that will be no more. My deepest condolences
to his family and all his other friends.

"From the necklace of love, the shining jewels slowly fall away." is one of
my favorites from the tombstones I've seen; it's symbolically
representative of life.

G'day,

I met Dwayne and Sharon several years ago when they passed through Houston. Bob and Sandra Price hosted a party for them at their
home in Riverside, north of Houston.

The next time we met was at the Coos Bay Rally, he and I were put in charge of mixing pitchers of Long Island Iced Tea at for
cocktail "hour." Actually he was in charge of mixing it I just served it. Wayne, wanted to make sure each batch was just right (not
too strong - not too weak) so he'd sample it. When he felt it was OK he'd have me sample it as well. By the time the cocktail hour
was finished both of us were in no shape to taste test anything! ;-)

As we say Downunder Dwayne was "fair dinkum!"

Rest in Peace, Mate!

So sad.

We met Dwayne and Sharon at the small Victoria rally in 2014 - they both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I was looking forward to getting to know them better in the future...

Bob and I are crying at this news. Dwayne and Sharron visited with us at
our home on the Trinity River near Huntsville, TX after their rolling rally
and their Carribean cruise to celebrate Sharron's 70th birthday about
2012. Their love for one another and the Lord was evident in all they said
and did.

So glad we had the opportunity to get to spend time with them, even though
it was brief.

With our condolences, we pray for peace and comfort for Sharron and family

Joanne and I sat with Sharon and Dwayne at dinner at the last Coos Bay rally
and swapped White Rock stories as that is the area where I am originally
from. Such nice folks. They gave us a business card with a free dinner at
their restaurant which I still have.

Very sad turn of events. If you would like to read a inspiring story about
Dwayne you can look at their restaurant blog

Jim,

No luck! I went to their website: http://avalonrecoverysociety.org/

Clicked on Donate and filled out the form using my MasterCard that carries an Australian billing address then my Visa Card which
carries a Houston billing address and both of them got rejected.

Could someone over there contact them and see what's wrong?
