A close friend that is a highway patrolman told me about the theft of interesting personalized plates as collectors items. And the theft of plates to be put on cars during robberies. I saw some license plate screws at Autozone that are SS. And take an allen wrench to put on, or take off. Our plate says Vintage. I'd like not to find them gone as we're on the road. Bob Dunahugh

If you can, put double nuts on the back of the bolts.

We keep our coach in in a mini storage -- and remove our antique plates.

A good plumbing supply or fastener outfit should be able to supply you vandal proof screws in about any size. The good ones will have to be drilled out to remove. Option is 'security' fasteners. Use an outlaw Torx size, 27 or 28.

I'd suggest paying a visit to Ace Hardware and buying Stainless Steel Metric "Allen" head screws and matching S.S. Nylok nuts.

I also use them to mount my ham radio equipment to at least slow down thieves.
