I just checked the price of BF Goodrich LT225/75R16E on the FMCA site and they are $156.10.
At Sams club they are $185.
At Discount Tire they are $184.67.
I bought 4 at Discount Tire about 8 months ago and paid almost $200 each.

I thought the only tires offered thru FMCA were Michelin(s).

Nope, numerous brands and sizes common to motor homes. Easy to check.

JimH,

I've looked at the FMCA website and mag. and all I see is the Michelin Advantage
program, no other brand. ????

The reason I ask is I am coming up in March to a set of tires that are aging out.

I know that at least Michelin and B.F. Goodrich tires are available. Alan
Story from Canada purchased 7 new Eagle Aluminum 16" wheels from me, and
Superior Tires in Salem Or mounted new tires on them for him, using the
F.M.C.A. rebate program. "Not all dealers participate in the F.M.C.A.
program to the same degree". Be sure to contact them by phone to verify
what I say, the rebate program might have changed since Alan's deal.

Ok, I found it. BFG and Uniroyal were added to the program. I've been
running Bridgestone tires for the last 13 years with good wear and service.
Would hate to change from a tire I like to an unknown (to me).

Thanks for helping me out.

P.S.: How are you coming along?

Many of us have been running BFG's since the late 90's and I've never heard
of any problems with these tires.

Jim, progress is measured in small steps. Operation went well. I have taken
lasix to remove fluid for many years. I no longer am retaining fluid, so
no longer need the drug. Good deal. I am warm now with just a t shirt on,
so my circulation is much improved. When my sternum heals up, I should be
good to go. Damn valve is noisy when it is quiet. Good trade off I guess.
Should be much improved by mid march.

Kind of like a fan clutch. .......noisy but as long as you can hear it
you know things are working as they should.

Glad to see you're on the mend.

How about a link to the FMCA site. All I can find is the Michelin Advantage.

Not actually on the FMCA site (as I remember). Went to bed and have to
be retrained (didn't fully retain it). Google "FMCA tire purchase plan"
and you'll note that it appears that Michelin couldn't keep up with demand
so FMCA added BFG and Uniroyal. (I think).

That's my take and I'm sticking to it.

One more tidbit of information on Michelin tires. They are produced in
Canada and also in that same plant, B.F.Goodrich tires are produced. From
what I learned, EPA regulations regarding airborne Volatile Organic
Compounds (VOC's) were forcing the U.S.A. plants to shorten up the cooking
time on their tires. So, they moved to Canada, where the restrictions are
not as stringent. That allowed the tires to cure longer and bond to the
metal and fabric cords, Not so many sidewall and tread separations. Not all
EPA regs result in a better, safer, USA built product. Jus' Sayin'.

Around 1990 Michelin bought the BF Goodrich / Uniroyal tire Company.
