Looking for something to replace woods screws that hold down a plywood hatch cover with something that would be quick release. Want to have quicker and easier access to what is behind this panel.

The current woods screws look like #10 that are about 1 ½" long.

Any suggestions?

This one's only about 1-1/8" long and 14" diameter. Hard to find long and skinny like #10 x 1-1/2".

Eugene,

Do they need to be flush on the surface?
There are available fasteners that are wood screw on one and machine thread on the other. Those and thumb nuts??
Or,
Those wood thread inserts: Go to Mcmaster.com and an search "inserts for wood"
Put those in and then get long machine screws cut to only engage 3~5 threads.
This is something I have done for a few owners and the result was well received.

Sully,

One of them is a small wall panel about 12" square, maybe 1/8" thick. Four screws hold it in place, this one has no load to carry just provides access to some wires behind the wall. So these fasteners can be fairly light weight, but secure enough not to come loose with a lot of vibration.

The other one covers a raised area under the bed. Has an odd shape, but covers about a 2 square foot area. The top is 3/8" plywood and currently has about 10 screws holding it in place. It also provides some structural rigidity to the things it's attached to. It doesn't carry much load, but kinda helps hold things together.

if the small one is not obviously in view, how about a piano hinge at the
top and a turnbutton at the bottom? If there's room to swing, that is.

Velcro tabs and a small finger hole in the panel should do the trick. There
are several panels larger than yours using Velcro in my eleganza 2 and it
works great.
