Can you tell me what should be under the front bench seat behind the drivers seat of the dinette of a '73 Canyonlands 230 23'? I just see two heavy duty wires with terminals that have a whole in each. Thanks.
1973 Canyonlands 230 (23')
Odometer reads 37K but probably 137K or 237K
Side wet bath/Rear bed/couch
Kitchen to the rear of the door

Possibly power cables for an inverter. Most use pretty heavy cables, depending on the size.

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum...
Those wires not OE, that I can promise you. I strongly suggest that you do your best to locate the other ends, "Safe" them and tag them or remove them. I do a lot of power work on boats and have seen cases where abandon conductors caused trouble.
I looked you up and figure out that you acquired this coach late last year. If you have read here much (there is a lot you can learn here - fast), you have hopefully noticed two things. One is that we use a lot of real names, and two, that most of us have meaning full sigfiles. This is more than a minor convenience. Even if you don't want to use a real name here, at least put it in the sigfile so that when you meet other GMC owners (and that is very likely) they will know who you are. Secondly, include a short bit about the coach so we all know what you are dealing with and in your case, this is important as a 23-73 has a lot of things that are different than most others. The 73&4 23s are less than 5% of the TZE population, so be careful when you go ahead based on another's advice. Nobody here will knowingly steer you wrong, but if the advice is not specific to your coach (like the dinette in a 26 is on the other side), things may not work out well. And last, please include a geographic reference in the sigfile. This is a simple thing, but it lets us know what climate you are in. Like right now, many of us are in snow that make working under the coach unpleasant.
You can easily enter a sigfile in <Control Panel/Account Settings>. You can put in a human name for an alias/nick, but you will need to scroll way down to the sigfile place and to enter one and when done scroll more to the "Update" tab.
Get hooked up with Bdub's Google calendar and try to get to at least one day of any rally that you can. You might really be shocked at how many old friends you have just made.
Now that you are here, be aware that you are a member of a rare community. This is a helping and supporting community like few others. These people will come to your aid without reservation. The only way to really annoy them is to not give them a chance or ignore the advice of those with decades of experience at keep these fine vessels safe and operational. If you stay here long, and I hope you do, you will get to read some amazing stories. The only other community like this that I know of is that of the watermen of my world. That being the case, I like to welcome new owners here much as a new owner or vessel is welcomed there. So,
