Here are the adapters I used:

Manifold to throttle body - NAPA 735-4930
Carb linkage bushing 1/2 to 1/4” - Mr. Gasket 6026 from NAPA
Carb linkage 1/4” stud kit (bolts through bushing on throttle body linkage to accept stock GMC throttle cable) - Holley 20-38 from NAPA

Is it true that FiTech won't work with the later (late '76 and later) ignitions?

It will work just fine, but so far it will not control the timing of the HEI distributor
