G'day,
Because of all the inconvenience caused to my friends by the person that hacked my Facebook account I have requested it be deleted.
It takes Facebook two weeks to delete the account; guess they want to give you a chance to change your mind. NOPE, that ain't
happenin.
I hardly ever looked at the damn thing anyway!

You’re not the only one who’s fallen prey to the one of the various social hacks.
“They” (the low-life scum who break down your electronic “doors”) keep coming up with new and ever more devious ways to get your password.
A friend who runs a top 50 technology company was recently “socially hacked” - once upon a time he was a coder, and is very technologically savvy.
It happens to the best of us.
In the interim, the rules remain -
Don’t use a link to a site like Facebook or LinkedIn from an email. Yeah, I know it’s convenient. Don’t do it. EVER.
Change your password every 90 days. If you’re a serious about security, do it every 30 days.
Make certain that password includes a special character or two. My Granddaughter, who’s just learning her alphabet watched me and her Grandmother unlock our phones, and can no do it faster than we can.
Restart your browser daily.
Make backups. Constantly make backups.
Oh…. and lock your front door

Rob,
I understand your feelings, if you do not jump on to facebook much, it is your choice. Don't need this to go down the facebook argument path.
I was friended on facebook by fake Rob, and did not take much to quickly realized it was a fake Rob, so it was no hassle here. I also was friended by a few other fake Facebook users, but since I relized there was an issue with Rob's account, it took a second to realize what was going on with those other accounts.
I will be staying on facebook, because almost every day there is a good trip report there and some nice pictures, and since i live in MN in the winter, I have to live vicariously though others camping south and west of me for a few more months.
