The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point is a worthwhile visit. The bell of the Edmund Fitzgerald is there. Lots of history there. Good article.

I do recommend it and the hold of Valley Camp (the museum ship at Sault Sainte Marie) both are great stops. I will not volunteer to be anybody's guide.
But, if you are near the Soo, you have to get up in the peanut gallery and watch them flush a ship or two. If you want to know more about that, contact me off list.
