I have had my 1978 Royale for for a little over two years. The first winter I spent a lot of time on the Suburban NT30 furnace. It needed a good cleaning of carpet fibers built up on the fan, lots of electrical connection cleaning, and a little persuasion on a sticking gas valve. The second winter it worked perfectly. Now the third winter is coming and I got nothing but fan. No spark, no gas.

I decided to remove the furnace again and check it out. Having done it once before, it came out easily in about 10 minutes. Remove ducts, wiring harness, gas line and air intake screw from the outside of the coach. Once on the work bench and connected to the old buzz box for 12.6 volts, a quick voltage test revealed a suspect sail switch connection. I redid the connection along with some dielectric grease. Everything else checked OK so I prepared to test it on the kitchen floor in the coach. I connected the gas line and wiring harness and it fired right up.

I reinstalled it in the coach. The hardest part is aligning the air intake and exhaust. All buttoned up and works great. VICTORY

Once again, many thanks to the those who have helped me with the Onan, furnace, and other troubleshooting.

For others with Suburban furnace issues, the manual and a multi-meter is your friend. Make sure you understand the wiring schematic and the firing sequence.

Happy to help anyone with Suburban or Onan issues.
