I've seem 3 GMC's with this plywood floor section in poor condition. After I got the front seats out. I found the floor plywood that's next to the outside wall vary soft. There are 7 pop rivets holding that floor section in place. I drilled the rivets out. And that floor section lifted out vary easy. So I'm going to get some marine plywood. And make that panel on my table saw. Then apply some rubberized under coating to the bottom side. Then I'm going to put down some epoxy paint to seal the entire floor. If anyone wants some photo's. Let me know by privet E-mail.Bob Dunahugh78 Royale

Bob,
What is important to seal a plywood are the side edges. Double seal the
sides.

Bob
That is usually caused by leakage of the Windows above that area. It could also be a roof seam where the leak is running down a roof channel and dripping down the wall (or the inside of the wall). It can be a razor thin leak that has leaked over a long period of time.
While you have the wall and ceiling panels off you should check with a water hose by running the water starting low and working up to the center of the roof. One person inside and another working the hose outside.
I found an "invisible" crack between the front roof fiberglass panel and the main aluminum roof this way. It was in the top center of that seam but the water dripped from the side just above the the front of the large passenger side window. The water was running through theft one roof channel to the side about 4' from the actual leak.

Bob, I id not think of it when I did the floor.
There is a gap between the floor and the outer wall. This gap allows engineroom smells to enter the cockpit. Sealing this gap will given a cleaner smelling cckpit
