Found it on a Craigslist ad up in Knoxville cheap (Thanks RC). Doesn't work but I've left it with a friend who does small engines. Hopefully it's repairable. Missing the carb bowl and is hard to turn over so there might be some internal issues. We'll see but I'm in it for practically nothing so I can afford to spend a few bucks getting it going.

Best place for repair on that specific generator set is Pinales Power, near Tampa. Ev6010 has enough differences from any other small genset, that it pays to bite the big bucks. Plus, he has all the needed parts on hand, speeds up the repair process.
I do have a spare starter on hand, if needed.
If you are coming to Dixielander Rally, you can see two slightly different installs of the ev6010. Parts book and installation manual are on bdub's set.

A friend's Harley has over 70,000 miles on it. I know the B52 and KC135 has
been flying since the 50s and 60s. If properly maintained, use it. "How
much is too much"? who cares. Use it and enjoy it. when it needs
maintenance, just do it. When you feel its to much, or you have that
nagging feeling, replace it. Until then use it and enjoy it. :)

I make the assumption that every 6010 with unknown history came out of a reefer. But, if the price is cheap enough and I can find them, I can have a spare and donors.

Thats good to know. I only have about 120 on my 4010 and did the oil change at 100.
Pinellas has dozens of how to videos on their website. If you email a question, he will respond very quickly telling you which video's to watch. I asked about my surging problem... Walla...video about setting the mixture on the carb

Well, I just bought that one too... 
Talked to the guy. It came from a TV live truck and was never heavily loaded. The TV station had it maintained by the local distributor every year. He started it and I heard it run and verified it's puttng out voltage.
I've got to go to Indy in a couple months to deliver an Ewheel when I finish it and will get it then. A buddy will pick it up and store it for me until then.

If you are going to convert the Honda Muffler, you should use style B. Similar in design concept to the Onan. However with your skill set and equipment, you probably would find it easier to roll your own.
Style B has the input into the muffler on one end and the output from the muffler on the other end. Style A has both on the same end and I think that they are more difficult to work with, but a local muffler shop converted my Style A to function, but this was a strange conversion. You can see it at Pensacola.

I installed a EV 4010 generator unit last fall on my coach. The PO had removed the original Onan Generator before I purchased the coach.
Modified the compartment and relocated slide rails to have new unit on a slide tray. With the quick removal of the muffler I slide the generator completely out to perform any service and access adjacent house batteries.
Works real well. Make sure you order the remote start from Pinnellas in Florida.
