I think we're going to have to do something about using a 30 line sig!

Billy,

> I think we're going to have to do something about using a 30 line sig!

30 lines of text are expensive, if printed on paper. On an email
messages at the bottom they aren't.

Takes lot of unnecessary space in the archives, though.

Billy,
> Takes lot of unnecessary space in the archives, though.
in the archive it might be unnecessary, but it still is so little that
*I* do not worry about it. And I am anal about wasting space, for
example when people mail Word documents instead of putting the text into
the mail body.

If signatures waste space in an archive, one could auto-strip everything
under the signature defining double dashes.

Why not address this "problem" privately with those who are the source?

The only really long stuff I recall having seen is what seems to be "official" notices from Kim Weeks.

Maybe my sig is somewhat guilty? I frequently see requests for VARIOUS info in sig blocks and I have tried to identify myself adequately.

I send all my messages in Courier New font which I understand is the simplest ASCII text and the server needlessly converts that to a complex less readable "justified text" font. Is not that a cause for needlessly extra data???

Pete,

That Mini belongs to Randy Johnson and it's not a towd, the rear hatch in his GMC lifts and he drives it up inside! There are photos
of his GMC somewhere but I can't remember where at the moment. If I remember I'll post it for your enjoyment.

He also has a Mini Moke!

G'day,

Thanks! They allow those of us that couldn't make the convention attend vicariously!

Would it be possible to publish a list of the attendees?

G'day,

If you review my responses to queries on the GMC net you will notice that I include a copy of the question but strip out all the
stuff that I feel is not necessary.

If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of this email you will find Mac's question and above it my edited version in my
response.

I have included my complete signature on this email and what I usually shorten it to.

I would think the handful of msgs full of useful info that Kim posts in a year would take not near the space used by some that just have to add their 2 cents to many, many msgs.

Lol, much as I like Minis, I'm not giving up a double bed and bathroom for one. They should flat tow OK as long as you avoid the biggest potholes......and lack of easy AC would be a drawback
here in the south. Chevy Spark looks like the nearest modern equivalent........I used to have its predecessor, the Daewoo Matiz back in the UK and it was not a bad little car.

Local Mini dealer told me they CAN NOT be towed four down; need to put front wheels on a tow dolly. I don't know if that is/was accurate.

Randy told me that he used to tow the mini behind on a trailer. But was tired of never being able to merge because people always hung out in his blind spot to take a closer look at the mini when he drove. So he put the mini inside the gmc to keep it out of sight and secure.

Yeah I meant the Classic Austin Mini...the new one whilst still built in the UK is built by BMW and whilst no doubt a far better car is just way too big and bloated to my eyes and has become just a
parody of the original Sad .
