Folks, I have an EV4010. Runs fine but after a few hours of run, when the AC compressor shuts off the genny surges a bit until the compressor comes back on and loads it again. Anyone here experience this? Perhaps the spring on the Governor?

Seems to only do it when hot. We ran the genny all night for the first time last weekend and experienced this. The unit has about 120 hours on it.

I haven't completely turned the AC unit off to see if the surge is coming from it, but the fans don't seem to be doing that. The AC unit is a 15K Carrier Low Profile Heat Pump.

Sounds to m like an out of adjustment carb. If you have a manual look up
the carb and the adjustment screw. Note where the screw is so you can put
it back but get her running and surging then turn the screw a bit.....
remember where it was though. If it gets better or worse you are on the
right track... if it won't go away you may just want to replace the carb.
Paul at Pinellas Power Products has them. Try new plugs first

That usually means a slightly lean mixture when running under low load. I've noticed this with many later engines that are Carb certified.

Ding! you are both right. Paul responded to my email this morning in like, 5 min. Running lean. Need to tweak the carb. Told me which videos to watch.

Figures, Considering it only used about 4 gallons under load all night (~9 hrs) I believe it.
