My wife and I made a windshield cover for the coach, we used Dan Winchester's method. Here is a little DIY for those interested.

Nice Job. Time to start a side business to support your GMC. I actually saw a wonderful idea on attaching windshield covers at an FMCA event. They used high powered magnets, fastening (epoxy) one inside the windshield corners. They then put a stiffener rod in the outside vertical seam of the cover, and put a magnet at the ends of this rod. They could unroll the cover and snap it in place in about 30 seconds.

I thought about using some rare earth magnets, then decided I did not want to epoxy things to the windshield.
