Hi,

I bought a scaffolding this past weekend so my son and I could paint the coach roof and remove and replace old vents and A/C.

The coach had two A/C. We kept the newer working coleman A/C in the front. Took off the old rear large non working Carrier A/C.
Wasn't sure how to dispose of the a/c so put it at the curb last night to see if someone would pick up.

This a.m a local landscaper truck stops at the curb, driver and helper jump out and take out a shovel and start breaking the plastic cover on the a/c to get it off. Once he gets it off he puts the plastic cover in my garbage and then takes the a/c unit and puts it in their trailer and drives off.

Curious to know if there was any value in the non working a/c. Maybe they were just looking for scrap metal?

Thanks.

I got $25 for one as scrap metal about 5 years ago. There is a lot of aluminum in the fins.

depends on the scrapper. Some are afraid of the refrigerant, others don't care and will pay for the metal.

At least they put the cover in your trash. The idiot scrappers here leave the crap they don't want in the alley. I love it when they take all the aluminum off the shower doors and toss the glass and often break it.
