testing the waters on selling my Jeep Wrangler.

http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/5213466825.html

Selling it because it worked out and I was able to pick up a VW thing for a towd for next year.

My price is slightly optimistic, I do not need to sell it right now. Fall is not the time to sell a jeep Wrangler where I live.

I am just wondering if there is someone out there looking for a towd ready to go.

I do not think you could buy a $5950 TJ jeep, drop it off to have the Even Brake, towmaster tow bar, and wire it for lights, add a tow package then go buy a soft top complete with frame, for this price. Yes I know you can buy that stuff used and install it yourself(I did), but this is all installed and ready to go.

I am not a big believer in KBB, or NADA. I usually keep an eye out on the local craigslist, and see what jeeps either stay on the site forever, and what one's disappear. in MN, jeeps of this age have a real frame rust problem, that you usually do not see in the pictures. I honestly think this is a $6000 jeep with over $1000 worth of accessories on it.

Personally, I think the Jeep is priced correctly. It's in a lot (!) better shape than most Wranglers, most of which have been ridden hard and put away wet. Add in the multiple tops, custom wheels with on/off-road tires, and the best engine Jeep ever put in a vehicle (the 4.0 liter straight six), and I'm sure sooner or later someone will come along and realize that they could't "build it for that much money", particularly when you add in the towd gear and towbar!

For anyone wondering about those miles, my wife Lorraine had a 6 cyl 4
litre in her jeep with 403,000 miles on it(bought new US) before the body
rotted !
It will run forever...

I wasn't knocking it, just ran it through Kelly with the hardtop. Brake system and towbar put the value up. The mileage ain't a concern, I wore a couple of them out and it took better than 300K to do so. Company cars, both XJs. One timing cover, one exhaust manifold, brakes, tyres, oil and filters. They're a pretty unbreakable engine. If I ever get another (unlikely) either a CJ-5 with the 292 engine, or a CJ-3 with three stalks in the floor Smile

My CJ-3B has FOUR stalks on the floor; T-90 three speed, Spicer 18 transfer case (2), and a Huskey overdrive. If not for the 5.38 rear end gears and the 33" Goodyear MTR tires, it would probably make a good towd for the GMC (GMC content)

Shifter, front axle engage, and hi - lo transfer, with a plate welded on it to force the front axle engaged when in lo transfer. Differentials were a whole lot to not very many.

In case anybody is keeping up with pricing on jeep wrangler towds.

I sold the jeep, $6500. but I kept the even brake and the roadmaster tow bar.

Now I am planning on buying a winter beater, and put a little money into the vw thing, so I can be sure it is ready to be my summer car and towd.
