On suggestion here, I replaced the mounts for the AC condenser. Both on the driver's side were broken apart. The nuts came off the bottom one fairly easily. The bottom nut on the top one wasn't too bad. The top nut was attached only to the threads with a thin wafer on the under side. I tried vice grips. I tried pliers. Linemen's pliers. No deal. The nut would not budge.
Begin a smart guy I used my Dremel to cut a piece out of the wafer. I was careful to avoid the air hose for the air bags that was adjacent to the mount. Then I was able to use a vice grip to stop it from turning when it came around. Man it was tight. But I succeeded.
All the while I was going inside the coach and applying another coat of paint to the dashboard.
Today I completed the dashboard reassembly and tried my Slaten valves. When I put the left bag to Travel there was a great deal of hissing.
Yup. Nicked the hose when the Dremel wheel jumped. You have to admire my technique. Three minutes to cut the metal wafer. Split second to nick the hose. A coupling with little inserts fixed the hose.
And when I started the engine neither the trans cooler or the engine oil cooler leaked. Progress! The Jack Stand Queen may get a shakedown run tomorrow afternoon!
