Had to deep clean the carb and the original gasket was a casualty. My father-in-law and I rigged up a replacement for testing but it is not perfect (minor gas leak).
I recall reading a thread that stated the original Onan part is no longer being produced but that there was a Briggs & Stratton gasket that worked perfectly. Unfortunately I can't find the thread or another part number to replace. I know that Applied sells a rebuild kit for $30 (plus shipping) but the generator is running fine. I don't want to mess with it anymore. I just need a single gasket.
Anybody got a part number for me?

Thank you sir. I should have been more clear. I already have the Onan part number and tireless minutes of searching the interwebs has produced nothing. I am searching for another option/suggestion on how to repair. I remember reading a thread that provided a part number for a B&S gasket and stated it was a direct replacement.
I was hoping that someone could provide me with:
1. A link to the thread (that I may have imagined in a dream)
* OR
2. A source for the Original Onan part (which may be slightly more rare than a unicorn)
* OR
3. A part number for another carb bowl gasket that will work (rumor is that there may be a Briggs & Stratton but that rumor is from the thread that I might have imagined)
* OR
4. Any other suggestion for a solution to my leaky bowl problem
Thanks,
--Bryan
P.S. I will try calling the two sources you linked.

I would think the carburator was not made by onan just made for onan if there is a manufacturer's name or logo on it it would give you another avenue to look into.
P.S. I will try calling the two sources you linked.

Call Walbro in Cass City MI
They may be able to help. Just read a post a while back about them still doing rebuilds on the Onan Carbs for a reasonable fee.

I bought jim k's kit a few months ago, just put it in this week. So much smoother...
I would not have known there is supposed to be a gasket between the main jet and the body jet (terminology?), but there was one more thing in the kit than was in mine when I took it apart. It fit and made sense where I put it. For $20 more, I would definitely send it to the Walbro folks, and I have done lots of motorcycle carbs.
And more fodder for collective knowledge and discussion - the main GMC manual said to start with both idle and main 1.5 turns out from lightly seated. Runs fine, but smells rich exhaust. So I read the Onan manual from bdub's site, and it says 1.25 turns for main, and one turn for idle jet (p.25). I am going to try those and see if it runs as smooth.
And another question if you are still reading...when I did my test run there was condensation on the exterior of the outlet side of the carb (throat, throttle shaft, and mounting nuts). I thought it was gas leaking, but no smell, and touched it and just water. More than I have ever seen on any running engine...does it tell me anything that might be out of adjustment, or just some physics, temperature, humidity combination?

I had this very same thing. I am no carb expert but it seemed excessive. Any of you experts have any thoughts?

My Onan 6K does the same thing and, like you, I've never seen this much condensation just after the throttle plate on any other engine. On a hot humid day the condensation extends a couple of inches onto the intake manifold. The Onan runs fine so I guess that's the way it is supposed to be.

The condensation is common -- in the cooler months you may expect icing. Here is one photo for winterizing to prevent the icing.
