Rob, I'm confused. I understand how the pusher works but don't understand why you would drill and tap the bolt holes larger? Wouldn't that mess up installing the new spindle unless you drilled it out also? Why not just use the existing 3/8 threaded holes?

Kerry,

You don't need to drill. The existing 3/8 clearance hole is about a 70% thread for a 7/16-14 thread. With a typical spindle install, there are lock nut back there and with the reaction arms, there is a plate.

Kerry,

I'm sorry the write up under the photos is a bit confusing; it is not necessary to drill spindle retaining bolt holes, they are
0.375 in OD. The U drill is 0.3661 OD the bolt holes are a bit too large but the 0.0089 isn't enough to affect the thread strength.

I'll revise the write up under the photo it to make that clear and include step by step instructions.

For the moment reference Parts Book 78Z / Section 14 - Air Suspension / Page 14-2 / Figure 14.001 Suspension - Rear Air

Key: 10 - Spindle
Key: 23 - Arm Assy

Note that the spindle pushes in from the "outside" of the Arm Assy; you tap the "inside."
