His last entry indicated they are rebuilding or going to a new type of browser.

Last time I was down there, I was able to get Jim to *finally* agree that he HAD to change. The use of frontpage-style publishing is killing his online presentation --primarily because his readers can't refer other users to a specific post he's made. There are other marketing reasons, as well, but that gets into the esoteric field of search engine optimization and is OT for gmcnet (but is critical to the co-op if Jim's going to bring in new owners). I recommended wordpress and Brian was going to get it going. That was months ago. Looks like some of the latest updates has finally forced him to do something.

I sure hope so. It is very hard to read stuff from Frontpage-style
pages. I am really looking forward to something that is easier readable
on various devices.

On the other hand, even the Frontpage-style stuff has enough substance
that I do read it, cause it of mighty interest to me.

Yeah, agreed. I keep telling Jim he's already doing the hardest part --sitting down and putting up some good content. I know it's hard to move away from a format you're familiar with (I'm still using Ultraedit ver6 because I can make it jump through hoops) but he's GOT to move on if he's going to bring in the younger crowd.

Note that Jim has been working FB pretty hard lately --lots of solid advice without his infamous carny marketing --well, not so much carny, heh! Excellent move!

I've been reading the CO-OP site and the POSE for over 13 years.
I'll give it time, but at the moment I can't say I'm impressed.
What I'm seeing is not improvement. Time will tell.

Well, the Daily Pose site no longer exists. I am supposing there will be a replacement when the guru Jim hired gets it all fixed.

Spell-check is good. Auto-correct really stinks!

When I saw that Jim had to redo his website I remembered that I was delinquent in renewing my GMC CO-OP membership. Thinking about all the good information he puts there it is a small price to contribute to keeping him on line.

I am amazed that he writes as much as he does and even more amazed how much time he freely spends on the phone each day coaching us along or just fielding comments from all the masters of the universe! All this and still have time to run a business!

Looks like they are using Wordpress.

Jim has started posting ...more or less "Testing, 1, 2, 3" and "Is this thing on?" but he's posting

Very nice and clean layout!

Are you going to import the old information into the new system, or do
we ask http://archive.org when we want to look at the old gmc-coop.com?

I'm not involved with the move, I've just been advising/poking him in the ribs when I visited.

Unless his installer happens to be a whiz-bang coder willinge to write a parser for the old pose, I strongly doubt that the old content will be ported.

If need be, and noone else is coming forward, I am willing to the stuff
over. Not now, but after I have completed my GMC restoration task on
hand, ie. latest end of August.

Just send a short email to me, and I'll get to it.
