Not technically GMC-oriented, but is applicable. I installed a typical (i.e. old school) battery isolator in the jetboat. I'm getting ~13.5v in to the isolator, and only ~12.4v to each battery. I'm assuming the rest is lost as heat through the diodes. I just ordered a Battery Doctor/Wirthco isolator. Anyone using something similar to enable getting house and starting batteries to a full charge? At only 12.4v, the batteries will never reach full charge. I'm thinking about replacing the old school isolator in the Gulf Stream with one as well.

I believe the "sense" wire for the alternator needs to "sense" the voltage output of the isolator. There is normally a .6 to .7 Volt drop across isolator diodes. I believe the voltage output of the alternator to the isolator input needs to be around 14.5 to 14.8 Volts.
