I finally got around to mounting and wiring my DigiPanel. Bracketed it to the aux vents on the A/C. Works fine except I haven't mounted the trans temp sensor yet. The instructions say to tag it under a pan bolt. Which one gets the hottest, does anyone know? Manny? ANYbody??

I had mine under a pan bolt and it self destructed when I took it off. I like the hose clamp to the filter line that Bdub mentioned and that's what I did this time.

Filter line? Mine doesn't got an external filter. And I don't know why I'm asking when I can take my thermometer and point it at every part after a run and see what's hottest. Given the rolled edge on the pan, and the thinness of the copper mount the thermistor is crimped in, I can see where it mught well get torn up if it were directly under a pan bolt. I'm minded to find the hottest spot and then see if I can't slip it between the gasket and the trans edge that the pan mounts on. Bit of blue Permatex and it should seal up without leaks. Rob's point is taken - but given that the thermistor has two layers of heat shrink over it and its crimp, I don't think the relative wind will be a great factor.
Actually, what we probably wanna know is change with different modes of operation as opposed to absolute value.

Guys,
The pan is at the bottom of the trans and filled with fluid and the temperature you're going to read is that fluid temp. I have an
auxiliary temp sensor in Double Trouble's oil pan

and the readings on the Digi Panel track the temperature gage consistently and by the way that temperature tracks the cooling water
temp. All three reading move up and down in unison.
IIRC the connection for my DigiPanel transmission temperature consists of a flat square tab with a hole in it for the pan bolt to
which the thermistor is crimped and covered with shrink tubing. If you put a flat washer on the pan bolt before you install it you
won't tear up the thermistor.
